Youth & Family

Promoting the interests of young people and families, and encouraging their involvement in a country’s development process can significantly contribute to reversing problems such as marginalisation, poverty, illiteracy, unemployment and disease. This section looks at how to empower young people and increase their rights, including topics such as gender equality, as well as tackling the health and welfare issues facing children of commonwealth states, for example HIV/AIDS. This section also considers how to adapt to the changing nature of the twenty-first century family, and how to support family units in their decision making.
