Throughout the Commonwealth nations, sport, culture and arts have the power to transform communities and the lives of individuals. This sections looks at how sport can leverage social and economic development, especially if the opportunities for women in sport are increased. The potential for each Commonwealth citizen is considered, in regards to their education and career prospects. In terms of opportunities for communities, culture in particular is discussed as a catalyst for the regeneration of run-down areas. This section also considers how sport, culture and arts can play a vital role in creating and maintaining peace, and in unifying nations.
