National and regional policies and strategies need to be joined up to widen access to health care and increase the availability of basic health services throughout Commonwealth states. This section includes articles discussing the importance of, and methods for, increasing essential health provisions, such as vaccines and sanitation facilities. Even when basic health services are available, non-communicable diseases are huge killers across the Commonwealth; therefore this section also considers the lifestyle factors that need to be addressed to improve the health of nations. Articles included here also discuss the technological developments, such as mobile phones, that are bringing huge changes to the ways healthcare is administered in some Commonwealth states.
