Defence & Security

Responding to emergencies and conflicts remains an area still highly relevant to Commonwealth countries. This section looks at the value of cultivating respect and understanding, to resolve conflicts, create peace and encourage transitions to more stable societies. As well as countering violence or taking steps to prevent or prepare for natural disasters, it is also crucial that, throughout periods of instability, there is a continued provision of essential services, such as education and healthcare, and the maintenance of food security.
